Underground Storage Tank Removal

When a fuel tank needs to be removed from a home or business, it is critical that the owner hires a fully licensed professional who can remove the tank with the utmost care. C.E.R.S. is experienced in the removal of all kinds of oil tanks, including gasoline, diesel, waste oil, and heating oil. As a team of qualified remediation professionals, C.E.R.S. is certified to perform tank closure in NJ through both the Unregulated Heating Oil Tank Program (UHOT) and the Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA).

There’s no need to hire multiple contractors — we take care of every aspect of the tank removal process for our clients. After removing an underground tank, C.E.R.S. will test onsite soil and groundwater, dispose of contaminated soils if needed, and backfill the excavated site to grade.

Proper Abandonment in Place of Underground Storage Tanks

If an oil tank is no longer needed, it can sometimes be “abandoned in place,” meaning the tank is decommissioned but is not removed from its original location. Abandonment in place requires careful handling to ensure that the tank is empty of all fuel and vapors. C.E.R.S. is experienced in tank abandonment and will perform all the required site remediation processes to ensure the UST system is properly closed and the surrounding soil and groundwater are safe. We are also experienced in the secure removal of previously abandoned tanks.
